Portfolio Companies

The Hub Angels play an active role as a value-added investor in its portfolio companies. One of the criteria for investment is the ability to bring our own expertise to improve the probability of success to a company. The capital contribution in a company is just the beginning of the value the Fund will seek to bring to its investments. Through Board roles or otherwise, the Principals and Members are hands-on investors who provide assistance and advice.

Hub has invested in 20 companies, with the Hub Funds and its members investing more than $12 million. Venture firms that have co-invested with Hub include GE Capital, Rock Maple, Brook, Thomas Weisel, Fidelity, BCVP, Bessemer, Blue Chip, VCFNE, Seed, Origin, Intel, TL, Singapore EDB, Venrock, Commonwealth, and FlagShip. Collectively this constitutes more than $80 million of invested capital.

Hub Club

	Zipcar Zipcar is a unique car rental agency that allows Members to rent online or by phone; by the hour or day; and includes gas, insurance, and parking. Zipcars are in your neighborhood as “wheels when you want them”.
	Flexplay Flexplay develops proprietary, limited-time play DVDs designed to expand the home video rental and other limited-time use entertainment markets. Flexplay was purchased by The Convex Group in 2004.

Hub Fund I

	Seahorse Bioscience The Seahorse biosensor platforms enable non-invasive, real-time profiling of metabolic activity in cells. The technologies provide a new window on cellular behavior, allowing scientists in drug discovery and biological research programs.
	Exit41 Exit41 provides point-of-sale software solutions that enable Quick-Serve businesses to better serve customers and operate more profitably by providing remote call in, order fulfillment and business reporting.
	CircleLending CircleLending provides online loan administration, record-keeping services, and payment processing for financial transactions between private parties. The company was acquired by Virgin USA in 2007.
	Vestmark Vestmark is an enterprise software company providing managed accounts solutions to the financial services industry. Vestmark supports a range of managed account products including SMAs, MSPs, DMAs and UMAs.
	Experion Systems Experion Systems provides 'trusted advisor' technology that is used by both customer-facing personnel and financial product experts at financial and healthcare companies to help their customers make informed product and service selections with a clear and consistent product message.
	RedTail Solutions RedTail provides virtual EDI capability quickly and cost-effectively to middle-market companies in the form of a comprehensive out-sourced service. RedTailís solution offers these mid-market firms economical, easy-to-use, electronic transaction processing support between trading partners of any size.

Hub Fund II

	iTeam iTeam is a provider of services selling and fulfillment solutions to IT Resellers, Retailers and OEMs by developing ìservices as a SKUî that are provided to end-users through nation-wide electronic marketplaces for VARs. Resellers, Retailers and OEMs capture a larger piece of the IT value chain by providing valuable services to small and medium sized organizations.
	Ecochlor Ecochlor has developed proprietary ballast water treatment systems that have been specifically designed to safely and economically eliminate the worldwide transfer of aquatic invasive species and human pathogens such as cholera, in ship ballast water.
	MobileSecure MobileSecure is a software company that allows businesses to know the location, movement and loss of information. Their initial product is a secured Removable Disk Management (RDM) system for USB memory sticks.
	Catalyst Oncology Catalyst Oncology is a specialty reference lab offering the Shc Test for breast and prostate cancer, allowing Oncologists to create the best course of treatment for each individual patient. The company was acquired by DiagnoCure in 2007.
	Harmony Line Harmony Line is commercializing a MIT Media Lab technology that allows anyone to compose music. Products include an online community, contests at cultural and educational institutions, and white labeled products for associations and retailers.

	Intelligent Bio-Systems IBS is developing a next generation DNA sequencing system that can simultaneously increase the speed and reduce the cost of producing sequence data by a factor of 1,000.
	Geezeo Geezeo is a Web 2.0 company focused on using social finance to help the ìPlastic Generationì make better financial decisions through web and mobile applications.
